"Red Wine Audio has been expanding their range of battery-powered audio electronics: they have the Isabella preamp, with optional built-in DAC; Signature 30.2 power amplifier, with optional volume control, and Signature 70.2 monoblock amplifiers. The system at FSI used Omega Super Hemp speakers, which use a driver that in the version demoed at the show was equipped with an Alnico magnet structure, and it sounded very nice indeed."

"The small Super 3XRS speaker, which uses a
proprietary 4.5" Omega hemp-cone driver, had a coherence
and focus that reminded me in some ways of the
$7000/pair Fujitsu Ten Eclipse TD-712z single-driver
speaker that I reviewed in the January, 2007 issue."

"Both Patrick and I got our mojo working with
Omega's Max Hemp ($2,495) which sounded great on the Tab
Benoit disc I brought. Definitely a speaker for guitar
lovers."

"Another highlight of the show were Louis Chochos’
Omega Speakers. These unique speakers are made almost
entirely of hemp – even the single driver. Particularly
striking were the Max Hemps in the metal foil coating,
seen here on the extreme left and right. They were
simply gorgeous with a sound to match."

SoundStage Highlights
RMAF 2006 by Jonathan Valin, The
Absolute Sound
"The Omega Max Hemp may be one of those
great bargains that come along once in a paper moon. I
can tell you this: I plan to review a pair in the near
future."

"Omega Systems loudspeakers $2695 with
bases. Way cool!"
HE2004 by Gary Krakow, MSNBC
"Robin Wyatt had a terrific sounding pair of Omega
Grande 8 speakers ($999 a pair, in the foreground) and a
very interesting Tektron integrated amp ($1,779 plus the
price of the tubes of your choice)."

"The room shared by Omega Loudspeakers, Eastern Electric
and Hudson Audio Technologies was my favorite low-cost room
of the show. Every component in this system (turntable excepted)
retailed for less than US $1,500. You would never know it
from the warm, pleasant and involving sound emanating from
this good value system."

"Sharing the room with Tom Hills and Hudson Audio, and making
this one of the standout ‘bang-for-the-buck' rooms at the
show, was Omega Speaker Systems. This speaker company is
the love of audio designer Louis Chochos's life, and Louis
is delivering outstanding value for those searching for
reasonably priced speakers on the sensitive side."

"Omega/Sun Audio - I had heard the Omega Loudspeakers playing
on Sun Audio electronics at VSAC 2003 and was very impressed
by both. The Omega speakers come in a range of sizes. All
affordably priced—$399 to $1399. The speakers are single
driver, hence no crossover. The speakers are very efficient
90-96dB sensitivity and a perfect match for single ended
triode amps."

"The Bald Brotherhood Award: When I stopped in the Two Bald
Guys Audio room, I felt immediately at home in that special
fellowship that only us bald guys enjoy. Harry and Kent
had a super-fine system that was composed of an Audio Note
CD player, an integrated Sun Audio SV-2A3 amplifier and
Omega Speaker Systems Super 3 loudspeakers. This simple
and inexpensive rig had a synergy that just had to be heard
to be believed. At less than $5000 for the system, this
combination of kit put to shame many much more expensive
setups. "
